Actions of the IAGA Executive Committee
Since the Hanoi Conference of Delegates in 2001

The IAGA Executive Committee met in Prague in September 2002. A number of decisions were taken by correspondence both before and after that meeting. The EC also met in Sapporo on Monday 30 June. The actions taken were the following.

Approval of co-sponsorship and support of the following scientific meetings:

3rd IAGA Workshop on the Solar Forcing of the Middle Atmosphere, September 2003 in Prague (USD 1000).

3rd COSPAR Capacity Building School on Data Analysis in Space Sciences, December 2003 in Beijing (USD 500).

Appointment of B.R. Arora as Member of the Executive Committee to replace the deceased Professor Ogunade.

Appointment of G. Rostoker as Chairman of the Nominating Committee for the election of the next Executive Committee. Members of the Committee were appointed by the President in consultation with G. Rostoker.

Appointment of I. Eltayeb as IAGA Representative in the Scientific Committee on the Lithosphere.

Appointment of J. Lastovicka as IAGA Contact Person for the COSPAR International Reference Atmosphere (CIRA).

Appointment of V. Papitashvili as IAGA Representative/ Liaison Person to the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR).

Decision not to support that ISO presents a standard magnetospheric model.

Approval of the 2003, 2004, and 2005 IAGA budgets.
