Resolution No.6 (1977): Electrical conductivity of the asthenosphere (ELAS) project

IAGA, noting that the asthenosphere plays an important role in geodynamics and in the study of electrical conductivity of the Earth and that this is interesting to Working Group 3 of Division I, recommends to National Adherents support for the creation of an ad hoc Committee to prepare a Programme for a project "Electrical Conductivity of the Asthenosphere" (ELAS) to concentrate effort during 1978-1985 on magnetic and magnetotelluric measurements and their comparison with heat flow and seismic measurements.
