Resolution No.12 (1981): Low-altitude satellite survey of geomagnetic field

IAGA, recognising the usefulness of Magsat satellite vector magnetic data in defining IGRF 1980, and noting the complexity of secular variation, urges that another such satellite survey be made; recognising the value of such data in mapping intermediate-wavelength anomalies attaches great importance to the acquisition of such data at an altitude less than 200km.
